Re: Beautiful Brooklands Green 2200HLS German restoration

What is “wrong” with them? Lol. Beiderbecke is being a bit naughty as this is an in-joke. He has a lovely 2200HLS to which he has fitted different, more modern, rear badges which I have been critical of and indeed, you commented on, disagreeing with me, at the time... See elsewhere on this forum: h...

Beautiful Brooklands Green 2200HLS German restoration

Club member Markus Pöppel has been doing a complete restoration on his Brooklands Green 2200 HLS (round about 1978 vintage). It is now back on the road and I think it is stunning. Judge for yourselves:- IMG_9087_800.jpg IMG_9148_800.jpg IMG_9096_800.jpg IMG_9105_800.jpg IMG_9111_800.jpg IMG_9114_800...

Re: Indicator relay.

3 thoughts: 1 I also have buzzers on the indicators in SMG (for unreliable self-cancelling reasons) which sound naff but do the job. They were cheap & cheerful bought from eBay. Easy to fit. 2 Maplins have closed all their stores! The name is retained but with a completely different on-line service....

Lol. I suspect that maybe they're not working which is why he wants to change the relay. Hence he can't turn them on...I thought they were in the same place as P1 on the vertical surface front to rear behind the switches/ashtray. Rovamota, who has a P2 confirms this. Unhelpfully, I can't see any men...

There’s no doubt SMG is a little louder at tickover with the SS system although I’m not sure it’s noticeable on the move when it’s combined with road, wind & engine noise.

Re: New Exhaust

As you say, not cheap but look at it this way, with a stainless system it's not going to need a replacement. In my experience, wedges eat standard systems quite quickly, more by rotting from the inside out, and you have a system for life. It's why I've got a stainless system on my Wolseley.

You need ATF or AQF type F for b-w and old Ford autoboxes. Comma make it but there are other makes available. To do an exchange transfusion is expensive because you are unable to drain all the oil out of the auto box when you drain the auto sump as the oil remains in the torque converter. This means...

Tyre pressures of 26 should be fine for the front tyres but I would suggest you reduce the rears to 24 psi. However, that is fine tuning and won't solve your problem. What puzzles me is why this problem only skews the car to the right when you hit a bump on the left side of the car. That seems count...
