Hi - finally bought a wedge :-)

Post by Dave289 » Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:27 pm

My Dad owned three wedges when I was in my late teens in Winchester - an early (1974) ex-demonstrator Morris 1800, then a 1975 Austin 1800HL, then (after I left home in 1977) a 1976 Princess 2200HL.

My favourite was obviously the 2200HL, and I have finally managed to buy one (TTL286R in sandglow yellow). Sadly, my Dad died 8 years ago, but as soon as I collected this 2200HL, we drove straight to Winchester and surprised my Mum :D

TTL286R is now tucked away in our garage, awaiting the next meetings to drive to :-)

Welcome to the forum and, indeed, to the club. There's lots of friendly help available here for the 'little mishaps' that occur from time to time with BL cars.

Have you any details of the 1974 demonstrator your dad owned? Even better if there are any pictures.

You certainly have an eclectic taste in cars!

Hi David and welcome to the forum and the Club. It seems that Hampshire probably has the highest concentration of Wedges in one area than the rest of the country! Hopefully we can arrange a local meet sometime soon.
