Front wheel bearings

Post by Finchyman » Wed Oct 14, 2020 5:13 pm

Afternoon, are all front wheel bearings the same throughout the Princess production run, or were there part alterations?

Good Evening.

I reckon the front bearings were the same from 18-22 to Ambassador. Same part number GHB193 for P1, P2 and Ambo.

Thank you. Got an advisory on the MoT today and if I maintain this annual mileage I may need to get the bearings seen to in 15-20 years time.

They are adjustable but there is only a choice of two split pin holes and the nut is tightened to 200 ftlbs (272 Nm) - tight! Some testers these days are not aware of this and it will appear the bearing has failed. Not so - see if it will tighten to the next pin hole. Otherwise leave it as it is and check the free play periodically.
