Check your drains

Post by Finchyman » Sat May 02, 2020 2:27 pm

Having been irritated about why the driver's footwell filled with water I thought I would have a look under the wiper bulkhead grilles. I remember having a XJS that used to fill with water due to a blocked bulkhead drain so I wondered if it was the same problem. Sure enough both the drains were full of the Dinitrol wax treatment that it received in 1977. Once unblocked I have free flowing drains. Ironic that the wax that had saved the rest of the body was causing water to fill the footwell.

The screen rubber will still need replacing. It's still over 35+ years old!
