Anyone know what this is?

Post by John Steed » Wed May 20, 2020 12:51 pm

Does anyone know where this goes? I've got two of them, one came off the White Wolseley when stripping it and one came off the spares car, however i'm not sure where it went, its nice and shiny on one side and rusty on the opposite side so I'm assuming it went through the bulkhead into the engine bay. I have a feeling it bolts the clutch master in place but can't be sure? I've chekced the blue one however it doesn't have it

Would anyone have an idea?

Best Wishes, Andy

I am afraid I have no idea. Can't get my head round why one side is clean and the other is rusty. If the bolts go through the bulkhead to mount the clutch master cylinder why is one side rusty,,,

As you surmised, I seem to remember the plate is situated on the inside of the footwell as a strengthening piece as the studs bolt the clutch master on to the body...

Thankyou everyone, that solves the mystery, I'll get it all cleaned back up and bolt the new clutch master in place :)

Thanks Again

Yes and it's a fiddly bastard to fit on your own, as you may find out...

Ofcourse with this in mind, I've discovered the Blue one doesn't have this and just has two normal bolts. Would you advise removing them and fitting the spare plate?
